The big trout bite continues in Colorado! Fall in Colorado provides a window of opportunity for the bigger trout. Winter can be tough times, and the bigger trout seem to have learned to put the feed on in the fall when food is more available. With the cooler water temperature everything seems to be on the move from the smaller minnow forage to the crawfish. Just a slight change in water temp can be just enough to change the fish's attitude. So keep an eye on your graph and when you see active fish cruising and start hooking up, pay attention to the water temp. This time of year, just a half of degree or so can be the difference in active fish and neutral fish.
Stay on the move throughout the day so you can stay on the active fish. If the bite stops on a crawfish tube jig pattern then change to a jerkbait minnow pattern. The idea here is keep changing presentations and keep moving. Often the bite changes throughout the day and different fish will want different presentations.
