Persistence pays off so keep fishing hard!

Lake Pueblo walleye fishing continues to be up and down, day by day. The good news is we are seeing some bigger walleye coming out on average. Some walleye schools are gathering for a bit then will break up and dispense through the water column. Pay close attention to your graph and adjust your fishing strategies accordingly to target these fish in the right depth of the water column. Seeing some walleye that are aggressive enough to chase down an active lure, however many of them seem like neutral fish that will only check out your lure but commit to a strike. Walleye fishing on Lake Pueblo can be hit and miss this time of year. Some of the walleye still haven't spawned out and some of the walleye are in the recovery phase. Developing a pattern can be difficult, so often when I graph fish I'll try a finesse pattern to ramble up a few bites then switch over to more of an aggressive presentation with stickbaits looking for reaction strikes. Seeing some schools of walleye and then they seem to dispense throughout the water column, so stay on the move and versatile with your fishing techniques. Fish Hard! FishHead Outdoors The bite is on here in Colorado with spring fishing on Spinney Mt Reservoir! With the fishing season starting a couple weeks early here in Colorado, the water temps are low and slow to warm up. These conditions seemed to have created sluggish beasts that aren't quite ready to chase down active lures, but will slurp up a variety of lures worked slow. Right now it seems like fish are scattered throughout the water column, with different fish doing different things. So stay on the move and work a variety of lures throughout the water column. Seems like shaking out a pattern can be difficult this time of year so change lures, colors, presentations, and structure often, for the fish seem to change their mood as fast as the spring weather changes.

AuthorFishing is not a hobby, it's my lifestyle. If I'm not on the water, I'm thinking about being on the water. Obviously obsessed, the fishing journey has carried me across the Rocky Mountains eventually across the states, where I encountered the term "FishHead" for the first time. "FishHead" - a person who is completely consumed by the thoughts of fishing; an incurable sickness caused by fishing that consumes a person during all awake hours and usually persists throughout the sleep cycle.
